Description
The manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day IT operations of for one of our LA locations in the San Gabriel Valley. This includes managing a team of seven employees and the day-to-day management of any vendors that may be active at the client. There is an expectation that the manager will be hands-on and will be able to materially contribute to the identification, management and resolution of IT matters.
The manager will report to a CIO and a CTO. The CIO and CTO will set strategic direction with input from the manager.
In addition, the manager may interact with the application development team at the company and assist in the day-to-day management of the team. This may extend to attending project scoping meetings, assisting in defining business requirements, etc.
This will be a contractual position and WILL NOT be a full-time or salaried position.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience managing IT projects and/or personnel
- A working and practical knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, etc.
- Deep experience and knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure such as Active Directory
- Experience with SAN’s, blades, etc.
- Attention to detail and ability to reliably update a project management tool with task statuses
- A professional demeanor including written communications, oral communications and attire.
- Team-focused
Optional but Desired Qualities
- Ability to prioritize critical items while under pressure including requesting assistance when required
- Project management experience with software development projects including familiarity with waterfall design, scrum, etc.
- Experience or exposure to a manufacturing environment
- Specific experience with J.D. Edwards version 8.12
- Network expertise or experience including MPLS networks
